Navigating the recruiting process for a second time has been a mostly pleasurable experience for Jassan Eubank. But now comes the hardest part: picking a college.

The former Greensburg Central Catholic football standout has spent the better part of two years marketing himself as a Division I prospect.

With eight FCS scholarship offers and one from an FBS school on the table, Eubank thinks he is ready to make a decision — likely next week.

“I wasn’t overthrilled (with the process) because I knew what to except,” Eubank said. “But it’s just amazing how the most high works — he continues to bless me.”

Eubank spent last year at Nassau Community College (N.Y.) after transferring from Edinboro.

Southern Mississippi is his FBS offer, while FCS schools looking to land the 6-foot-3, 230-pound defensive lineman are Austin Peay, South Dakota State, Delaware State, St. Francis (Pa.), Northern Alabama, Alcorn State, Bethune-Cookman and Mississippi Valley State.

Despite his eagerness to announce soon — he tweeted a decision is near — Eubank said he has not narrowed his list to a top few schools and that all options are possible. He had 47 tackles and 7.5 sacks last season for Nassau.

He wanted to make his announcement around his late father’s birthday (June 22). Jason Eubank died in 2011 at age 36.

“I think he would be beyond proud,” Jassan said. “Ever since I was young he always talked to me and my brother about what we can accomplish, and it’s crazy to see it all coming true. I would like to honor him.

“Wherever I go, I’m going straight there from here.”
