Youth golfers will have to compete at one worldly golf course to get to another.
The annual Drive, Chip and Putt competition comes to the area again at 1:15 p.m. Saturday at Oakmont Country Club.
It will be one of 10 regional competitions held across the country.
The top eight players to come out of Oakmont — four boys, four girls — will advance to the national finals April 5 at Augusta National Golf Club, site of The Masters.
There will 80 national finalists.
Drive, Chip and Putt is a nationwide youth golf development program for players ages 7 to 15. There are four age divisions. Local qualifying has been ongoing over the last three months at 300 sites nationwide. The top three scorers at each site, in each age group, moved on to 60 subregional qualifiers.
