PHILADELPHIA – Carlos Davis has hung around the Pittsburgh Steelers since being a seventh-round pick in 2020. Sunday was his first chance to play in 2022.
Davis, a defensive tackle, made an impact, albeit in a 35-23 loss to. Davis had a sack of Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts.
Saturday, Davis was announced as a “call-up” from the practice squad in the wake of the news that starting defensive lineman Larry Ogunjobi would miss Sunday’s game because of a knee injury.
Davis immediately was part of the rotation on the defensive line that included Cameron Heyward, fill-in starter Chris Wormley, veterans Tyson Alualu and Montravius Adams and second-year player Isaiahh Loudermilk.
Pierre has foot injury
Also previously announced as out for Sunday’s game becuase of injury were cornerbacks Levi Wallace (shoulder) and Josh Jackson (groin).
The only healthy scratches for the Steelers were No. 3 quarterback Mason Rudolph, reserve interior offensive lineman Kendrick Green and rookie linebacker Mark Robinson.
The only in-game injury that coach Mike Tomln referenced postgame was cornerback James Pierre (foot).
