The Duquesne athletic department will retire women’s basketball alum April Robinson’s No. 32 jersey on Sunday before the Dukes’ Atlantic 10 Conference game against George Washington at the A.J. Palumbo Center.
Robinson, a 2016 graduate, finished her career as the captain of a Duquesne squad that recorded 28 victories and captured the program’s first-ever Atlantic 10 regular-season championship and NCAA Tournament berth.
She helped the Class of 2016 finish with 95 victories.
Individually, Robinson capped her career ranked fourth in program history in scoring with 1,598 points. She was first in 3-pointers (249), second in assists (578) and first in games played and started (133).
She was the 2016 Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Year after averaging 14.9 points and 6.4 assists per game.
Robinson was a WBCA All-America Region 1 finalist, an ECAC all-star and a Lieberman Award finalist.
She is only the third Duquesne women’s basketball player to have her number retired, joining Korie Hlede (No. 25) and Beth Friday (No. 40).
The ceremony begins at 1:50 p.m., and the game tips off at 2.
Duquesne enters Sunday’s contest 11-8 overall and 5-1 in the Atlantic 10. The Dukes have won four straight and are tied for first in the conference with Virginia Commonwealth (13-6, 5-1).
