Duquesne men’s basketball coach Keith Dambrot continues to add to his roster, securing a verbal commitment Monday from Dae Dae Grant, a 6-foot-2 guard who led Miami (Ohio) in scoring last season. Grant is the ninth player to join the Dukes this offseason.
Grant scored 775 points last season, 10th all-time at Miami for a single season. He averaged 17.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game. With two seasons of eligibility remaining, he leaves the RedHawks with 1,156 career points.
Grant will join eight other first-time Dukes this season, including guards Tevin Brewer (a transfer from FIU), Butler High School’s Devin Carney, Tre Clark III (formerly of Northwest Florida State College), Quincy McGriff (Salt Lake Community College) and Kareem Rozier (Orchard Lake St. Mary’s in Detroit). Also joining the team this season are frontcourt players Abdou-Halil Barre (Scotland, Pa., Campus), David Dixon (Speights, Fla., Academy) and Matus Hronsky of Slovakia.
