Terry Weigand, who was an assistant with former Duquesne coach Keith Dambrot through 22 seasons at three schools, is no longer a member of the Dukes’ coaching staff, a university spokesman said Wednesday.

Also gone from the basketball staff is Andy Allison, who was chief of staff for the past three seasons.

The association between Weigand and Dambrot, who retired after the 2023-2024 season, goes back 39 years when he played for the coach at Tiffin (Ohio) University in 1985 and 1986. Later, Weigand coached with Dambrot for two seasons at Ashland, 13 at Akron and the past seven at Duquesne.

Overall, Weigand was a coach on the collegiate level for more than 1,000 games, according to his biography on the Duquesne University website.

He also was head coach at Ashland for four seasons. His first team in 1991-92 averaged 100.6 points per game and won the Great Lakes Valley Conference championship.

Duquesne coach Dru Joyce III has not named replacements for Weigand and Allison.
