The Atlantic 10 followed the lead of the NCAA and the country’s major basketball conferences Wednesday night, announcing that the rest of its men’s basketball tournament will be played in an empty Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Starting with Thursday’s games, attendance will be limited to teams, network television employees, working media, essential personnel and team-affiliated families and guests, the league said.

Sixth-seeded Duquesne will meet 14th-seeded Fordham at 8:30 p.m. in the last of four scheduled second-round games Thursday. Two first-round games were played with fans in the stands Wednesday.

The games will be televised by the NBC Sports Network.

“Although this was a difficult decision, it’s imperative that the Atlantic 10 act in the best interest of our student-athletes, teams and member institutions,” commissioner Bernadette McGlade said in a release. “This a very unique and serious situation given the global impact of covid-19, and as disappointing as this is for our fans and spectators, this decision had to be made.”
