Duquesne continues to rebuild roster for 2023-2024 season
In what appears to be another busy offseason, Duquesne coach Keith Dambrot recently turned his roster retooling efforts toward point guard Kailon Nicholls, a rising freshman, and 6-foot-7 forward Andrei Savrasov, a transfer from Georgia Southern. Both have made verbal, non-binding commitments to the Dukes, according to reports.
Nicholls, a native of Toronto who played at Hargrave (Va.) Military Academy, made his announcment on Twitter. Savrasov’s commitment was reported by Eurobasket News. Savrasov is a native of Saint Petersburg, Russia.
After he officially signs with the Dukes, Savrasov will bring four years of Division I experience to the Dukes. He averaged 14.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game while shooting 35.9% from beyond the 3-point arc last season for Georgia Southern. In two previous seasons there, he scored 10.7 and 4.5 points per game. He spent the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 seasons as a little used freshman at Texas Tech.

Duquesne also plans to welcome twin brothers Hassan and Fousseyni Drame, transfers from La Salle, to the roster after they made verbal commitments earlier this month.
