Gunn, who spent the past four seasons at Division II Lenoir-Rhyne in Hickory, N.C., announced on Twitter his intention to play next season — his graduate year — at Duquesne.

Duquesne will have a need for a big presence under the basket next season, especially if seniors Marcus Weathers and Michael Hughes decide not to use their final year of eligibility.

Gunn was named this season to the Division II All-Southeast District second team for the second year in a row. He averaged 16.6 points and a team-leading 5.3 rebounds per game, improving his career marks to 12.7 and 4.3.

He also compiled impressive shooting percentages this season of 47.5% from the field (97 of 204), 38.8% from beyond the 3-point line (38 of 98) and 81% from the free-throw line (34 of 42).

After Gunn signs his letter of intent, Dambrot will have at least one scholarship available for next season’s team.
