Duquesne gets verbal commitment from 6-foot-6 guard Pedro Castro
After a disappointing 9-9 finish to the season, Duquesne coach Keith Dambrot has been busy restocking his roster with transfers.
Dambrot received his third verbal commitment from a transfer (the fourth overall) Wednesday when 6-foot-6 guard Pedro Castro said he will transfer from Houston Baptist of the Southland Conference, according to ESPN recruiting analyst Adam Finkelstein. Duquesne will be his fourth school.

Castro also played at Texas Arlington and Blinn (Texas) College.
After he signs a letter of intent, Castro will bring a scorer’s reputation to Duquesne. At Houston Baptist, he led the team in scoring (14.8 points per game) and rebounding (7.3) while shooting 47.5% from the field, 48% from beyond the 3-point arc and 88.1% from the foul line.
Since the end of the season, Duquesne has received verbal commitments from two other transfers, center Tre Williams of Indiana State and R.J. Gunn of Division II Lenoir-Rhyne, and prep school point guard Primo Spears.
