Duquesne loses on layup in final second vs. Saint Joseph’s

PHILADELPHIA — Christ Essandoko led Saint Joseph’s with 21 points, and Cameron Brown hit the winning layup with one second left as the Hawks took down Duquesne, 71-69, on Saturday.

The Dukes (9-8, 0-5 Atlantic 10) were led in scoring by Jimmy Clark III, who finished with 21 points and two steals. Jake DiMichele (OLSH) added 11 points for Duquesne.

Essandoko also contributed 12 rebounds for the Hawks (12-6, 2-3). Lynn Greer III scored 12 points while shooting 5 of 10 from the field and 2 for 4 from the line and added six rebounds. Xzayvier Brown had 11 points and was 3 of 11 shooting, including 1 for 6 from 3-point range, and went 4 for 5 from the line.
