Duquesne vs. George Mason postponed, but Dukes will travel to Richmond on Saturday
More proof of the disjointed college basketball season emerged Tuesday when the Atlantic 10 announced Duquesne’s game at George Mason, scheduled for Wednesday in Fairfax, Va., has been postponed. It is the fourth postponement of a Duquesne game this month, following VCU (Feb. 7), at Davidson (Thursday), and UMass (Saturday).
But the Dukes will play Saturday at Richmond. That game — set for a 4:30 p.m. tip-off on NBCSN — originally was scheduled Dec. 19 but was postponed after positive covid-19 tests within the Duquesne program.
Duquesne (7-6, 6-5) will take a three-game winning streak into its game at Richmond (11-4, 4-2), but the Dukes have been idle since its 69-64 victory against Dayton on Feb. 2 when they opened UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse.
The George Mason postponement is not covid-related, the Atlantic 10 announced. St. Bonaventure will visit George Mason on Thursday.
