Duquesne women picked by Atlantic 10 coaches to finish 4th in 2020-21 season
The Duquesne women’s basketball team was picked to finish in a tie for fourth with Davidson and Fordham in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll released Monday.
The league’s head coaches voted in the poll, and Duquesne received one first-place vote. Duquesne’s Libby Bazelak and Lala Sole were named to the Preseason All-Conference teams.
The Dukes finished last season with an overall 20-9 record, 9-7 in the A-10.
VCU was picked to win the conference championship after finishing second during the 2019-20 regular season. The Rams, runners-up in the previous two A-10 Championships, return three starters. They received 10 first-place votes in the poll.
Defending champion Dayton and Saint Louis were picked to finish second and third.
UMass was picked seventh, followed by Richmond, George Washington, La Salle, Rhode Island, St. Bonaventure, Saint Joseph’s and George Mason.
