Duquesne University senior running back A.J. Hines continues to collect preseason All-American accolades.
In June, he earned recognition from both Athlon Sports and HERO Sports.
On Tuesday, Hines picked up first-team All-American honors in the Football Championship Subdivision from STATS.
He garnered All-American recognition from five organizations after a 2018 junior season that saw him rush for 1,520 yards. That total ranked him third in FCS.

Hines added 15 rushing touchdowns, good for sixth in the nation. He tallied 246 total yards from scrimmage, including 177 rushing, and scored two touchdowns in Duquesne’s 31-10 first-round playoff victory over Towson.
For his season efforts, Hines was named the Northeast Conference Player of the Year.
He enters the 2019 season with 3,849 career yards on the ground to go along with 38 scores. Both totals rank first among active FCS players.
Hines is second in program history in rushing touchdowns and third in rushing yards.
He rushed for 100 or more yards in six straight games last year, becoming the first Duquesne player to accomplish the feat in the FCS era. He has 20 career 100-yard rushing performances which is good for third in team history.
Duquesne kicks off its season Sept. 7 at Rooney Field against Walsh (Ohio).
