Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin will return to the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Edmonton Oilers at PPG Paints Arena.
Coach Mike Sullivan confirmed Malkin is scheduled to be in the lineup.
During warmups, Malkin skated with forawards Alex Galchenyuk and Patric Hornqvist on his line.
Malkin has not played since suffering an undisclosed injury on Oct. 5. In two games this season, he has one goal.
With Malkin in the lineup, forward Dominik Kahun will be scratched. Kahun has scored four points (two goals, two assists) in his past two games.
Notes:
• Matt Murray is scheduled to start in net for the Penguins.
• The Penguins have not lost in regulation to the Oilers since a 3-1 defeat at the Mellon Arena on Jan. 10, 2006. They are 14-0-3 against Edmonton since that game.
• The Penguins will wear their third yellow jerseys.
• Goaltender Mike Smith is expected to start for the Oilers. In eight games this season, he has a 4-3-1 record with a 2.29 goals against average and .919 save percentage.
