Forward Adam Payerl was a member of the Penguins organization for parts of four seasons in the early 2010s.

Former Pittsburgh Penguins forward Adam Payerl has signed with the Krefeld Pinguine in Germany’s Deutsche Eishockey Liga 2 (DEL2), the second-tier professional league in that country.

That team announced the transaction with a release Monday.

A native of Kitchener, Ontario, the 34-year-old Payerl has spent the past seven seasons in Europe, primarily in Germany.

This past season, he skated for the Ravensburg Towerstars, also of the DEL2. In 43 games, the right-handed Payerl had 26 points (13 goals, 13 assists).

Payerl spent parts of four seasons with the Penguins organization during the 2010s, primarily at the American Hockey League level with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Over that span, he appeared in two NHL contests and did not record a point.
