Former NFL wide reciever Antonio Brown spurred a number of Halloweeners to create costumes using his jersey and a clown outfit.

In Friday’s “First Call,” Antonio Brown has costume comments. T.Y. Hilton is banged up. Emmanuel Sanders is off to a great start with his new team.

Costumes are boomin’

Perhaps the most popular Halloween get-up in Pittsburgh this year was the “Antonio Clown” costume, in honor of departed wide receiver Antonio Brown.

And A.B. took notice, responding to a bunch of people who tagged him in their photos.

Miss me huh champ go get you some candy https://t.co/WZRXHQA40i

That was just a pair of many responses. For some of them, I can’t tell if Brown was offended or a fan.

Another helmet controversy

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady played with Brown for only a week. And apparently his angst over his helmet is contagious.

The Twitter responses made perfect sense.

These are not the rings you’re looking for

Quite a look

Imagine being Patrick Mahomes.

You are out with a scary knee injury. Working hard to rehab. You pop on Twitter in between sessions and then you see …

Oh boy.

Happy Halloween from O.J. Mahomes!!! pic.twitter.com/JNuAQ9l1ld

— O.J. Simpson (@TheRealOJ32) November 1, 2019

“O.J. Mahomes??!!”

O.J. Simpson is you for Halloween. This has to be quite the internal conflict, doesn’t it?

This could be big

One of the biggest challenges for the Steelers on Sunday could be covering T.Y. Hilton.

If he plays.

And that has become more questionable throughout the week. The Indianapolis Colts star wide receiver was limited in practice Wednesday. Then he did not practice at all Thursday.

So it appears he is trending in the wrong direction with a calf problem. Tight end Eric Ebron was held out with an ankle injury. He didn’t appear on the injury report Wednesday. And cornerback Pierre Desir missed with a hamstring inury.

New home

When former Steeler Emmanuel Sanders left Pittsburgh, he had some very productive years in Denver. He made the Pro Bowl twice there.

But the struggling Broncos traded him to the undefeated San Francisco 49ers recently. And Sanders is making an impact quickly.

He scored in his debut with the Niners last week. Then he hauled in another touchdown pass Thursday night against Arizona.

Sanders ended up with seven catches and 112 yards. San Francisco stayed perfect, improving to 8-0 with a 28-25 win.

Take another look

Any overtime winner in the NHL is exciting.

But Calgary’s Matthew Tkachuk took that to a different level when he beat the Nashville Predators on Thursday.

Check out this between-the-legs beauty.

The multiple angles show the perfect placement of the shot despite the difficult nature of firing the puck from that angle.

That goal gave the Flames a 6-5 win. He also tied the game with 39 seconds left.
