First Call: Antonio Brown working out with Redskins QB; more Minkah Fitzpatrick honors
Thursday’s “First Call” tells us which quarterback is flirting with Antonio Brown now. Anthony Chickillo talks about his new home in New Orleans. And more praise for Minkah Fitzpatrick.
Mr. Big Chest goes to Washington?
Well, not yet.
But it seems as if he’d like to.
The latest quarterback to work out with Antonio Brown is Washington Redskins quarterback Dwayne Haskins.
First, it was Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson. Then it was reported that Seattle’s Russell Wilson made some overtures.
Now the former Steelers star spent part of Wednesday running routes with Haskins in South Florida.
More of Dwayne Haskins and Antonio Brown. I don’t care that there is no pass rush. I don’t care that, for some reason, Chad Ochocinco is the only guy playing DB. This is so fun to watch pic.twitter.com/9WBemsGNBs

Yes, that was former Bengals standout receiver Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson “covering” Brown. And I’m not sure, but was A.B. wearing his old Raiders helmet there? Was that the one he hated and refused to put on during “Hard Knocks”?
Brown shared the video on his Instagram story.
Buffalo Bills star Stefon Diggs was also on hand. So was former West Virginia star Geno Smith.
From Florida with love ️

Brown’s friendship with Smith is part of the reason why the Seahawks rumors sparked up as being feasible.
This isn’t the first time that Haskins has made overtures toward Brown. He did so in December 2019, too.
Dwayne Haskins comments on Antonio Brown’s Instagram:

Brown to the Redskins? Why not? Redskins owner Daniel Snyder has paid too much for worse players than him.
And Washington, D.C. is the one city in America where I can guarantee that you’ll find plenty of jackwagons who are even bigger dimwits than he is.

Chick’s a fit
Former Steeler Anthony Chickillo thinks he is going to fit in well with his new team.
The former Steelers linebacker inked a free-agent contract to play with the New Orleans Saints. He thinks some of the things he learned in Pittsburgh will carry over nicely to his new home.
Clowney clowns Browns?
ESPN’s Adam Schefter is saying the Cleveland Browns made an aggressive offer to sign pass rusher Jadeveon Clowney.
And Clowney turned it down.
“I think they’ve been the most aggressive team with him financially. And I just think he has balked at going to Cleveland for whatever reason,” Schefter told ESPN Cleveland. “I think he’s been hesitant to go because if he wasn’t, he would’ve gone already because it’s the most money. It’s the richest offer on the table and he hasn’t taken it. So why is that? I don’t know. Is that not wanting to be in that city? Is that a lack of belief in the organization? I don’t know what it is.”
Because it’s … Cleveland? Maybe?
Remaking Baker?
Speaking of Cleveland, Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield is trying to be a little less brash.
A little less outspoken.
“It’s just time to work, do our thing, instead of talking about it,” Mayfield said via ESPN.com. “This is the first media thing I’ve done, just because there’s no need to be talking about it.
“It’s just time to go do it.”
Mayfield made the comments during a conference call with reporters.
“Right now, it’s moving in silence, which is fine with me,” Mayfield said.
Let’s see how long that lasts.
Just Minkah
NFL.com came up with a list of the best players under 25 years of age.
Sorry, T.J. Watt. You washed-up, old bag of bones. You’re out. You’re 25 already.
But Minkah Fitzpatrick isn’t. He’s 23. The Steelers safety is the only player from Pittsburgh to make the list.
Somewhat alarmingly, three Ravens are listed: Mark Andrews (TE), Marlon Humphrey (CB) and Orlando Brown (OT). And Lamar Jackson probably would’ve been on the list if Patrick Mahomes wasn’t the quarterback.
Also, two Browns were mentioned. The first was running back Nick Chubb. The second was defensive end and designated helmet-swinger Myles Garrett.
A pair of Penn State guys make appearances, too. Saquon Barkley is one of the running backs. And Chris Godwin is one of the wide receivers.
