A.B. TV?

Is this what ex-Steeler Antonio Brown meant by not giving us media guys anything else to write about?

Within 24 hours of that statement, the Raiders wide receiver launched his own YouTube channel.

As “247Sports” describes, the first episode released on Wednesday “was all about Brown’s trip from his home in Florida to the Bay Area. He loaded his family up on a jet, along with his trainer and chef, and headed west. Once in Cali, the wide receiver met up with Raiders linebacker Bill Romanowski and headed to the University of California, Berkeley.”

The article includes a great quote from NFL Network analyst David Carr, who is also the brother of Oakland quarterback Derek Carr.

“He carries a camera crew around with him everywhere he goes,” Carr said. “He’s gotta document it all. There’s a little bit of showmanship.”

Gee, David. Ya think?

“He came to my nephew’s birthday party,” David Carr said. “He brought a cake. We already had a cake. Antonio brought his own food. He has his chef who prepares his meals for his family and everybody, and he brought a vegan cake for himself, but then he also brought Decker a vegan cake, my nephew. He’s very giving. It was great, but he’s got a lot going on.”

A lot going on. Yeah. That’s a pretty good description.

Get used to it, Carr family. Get used to it, Oakland.

Columbus comeback

Tampa Bay’s quest to turn a record-setting regular season into a Stanley Cup run is off to a bad start. The Lightning blew a 3-0 lead at home in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal against Columbus.

The Blue Jackets were trailing 3-0 until the 9:15 mark of the second period until Nick Foligno got on the board to start the comeback. They were still trailing 3-1 after two periods and managed to get the victory anyway.

The teams rematch for Game 2 Friday night.

Lovin’ Lyles

Pirates starting pitcher Jordan Lyles was supposed to be the weak spot of the team’s otherwise highly touted starting rotation.

But, so far, he’s been fantastic.

Lyles was the winning pitcher last night as the Pirates beat the Cubs, 5-2. In six innings, Lyles allowed just one run and one walk. He had 10 strikeouts, too.

The Pirates have won both of his starts this season. Lyles’ ERA is 0.82, and he has a 12-4 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
