First Call: How the Bills used ‘Renegade’ against Steelers; Browns' players want out
For Tuesday’s “First Call,” the Bills used “Renegade” to their advantage. Some Browns players want out of Cleveland. And not everything went great for a Bills fan at Heinz Field.
Renegade role reversal
When the jumbotron crew at Heinz Field plays “Renegade,” the goal is to fire up the Steelers defense in the second half. On Sunday, the visiting team got a boost instead.
Apparently during practice all week, the Bills used the Steelers unofficial anthem — and Wiz Khalifa’s “Black and Yellow” — to pump up themselves.
Because the plan was to steal the emotional bump and use it for themselves on the sideline.
As you can see in this video, it worked.
It also worked on the field. When the video was played with 10:03 remaining in the game — tied 10-10 — quarterback Josh Allen went up top to John Brown for 40 yards.
“Not a coincidence,” Buffalo’s Jordan Phillips told The Athletic. “We knew exactly what we were going to do when we heard that song.
“That’s their thing, and we said that once we heard it, we were going to expose ’em.”
The drive resulted in the game-winning touchdown pass to Tyler Kroft.
As if the Steelers haven’t had enough working against them, now their own pump-up song is doing so as well.
Bad idea
Buffalo Bills fans came out in force Sunday night at Heinz Field. That was the biggest influx of opposing fans I’ve ever seen at the stadium.
Not all of them handled their team’s win in style, though.
Especially this jackwagon. He tried to pull off the trademark “Bills Mafia” card table dive on an unsuspecting victim on the Heinz Field sideline after Buffalo’s 17-10 win.
This was a poor decision.

He pretty much was the only guy wearing Bills colors who got blocked all night.
Crying in Cleveland
Not only is Cleveland Browns receiver Jarvis Landry barking on the sidelines with coach Freddie Kitchens, apparently he’s talking about wanting out.
To go to the Arizona Cardinals?!
At least that’s the story from NFL.com’s Michael Silver.
More fallout from the Jarvis Landry tirade during the Browns-Cardinals game: I'm told by two sources that before the game ended, 'multiple' Browns players yelled at the Arizona sideline to 'come get me'--asking to come play for the Cardinals. Landry, I'm told, was one of them.

The fun in Cleveland doesn’t stop there. Via Cleveland.com, running back Kareem Hunt is saying that some of his teammates are taking plays off.
“I feel like there were some plays that everybody didn’t leave their 110% out there the whole play through the whole play, through the whole whistle,’’ Hunt told Mary Kay Cabot.
But Hunt refused to point out any specific person.
“You can’t point out one person or nothing like that. It’s everybody, and everybody’s got to do their job.’’
So far this season, very few have as the Browns have dipped to 6-8.
Shave and a haircut! Two bits!
Gerrit Cole is about to become a New York Yankee.
So I guess that means he is going to have to shave his beard. TMZ cameras caught up to him with that question and a few more.
Cole has been known for having a bit of a prickly temperament during his years in Pittsburgh and Houston.
The pressure cooker of throwing in the Bronx may get to him. Which is why this chaotic paparazzi scene was kind of interesting to watch. You have to wonder how long he is going to be able to maintain patience.
But I suppose $324 million can buy some cool. And a good razor.
Hot Weathers
Duquesne’s Marcus Weathers was named A-10 co-player of the week for his performances against Columbia and Radford.
The junior forward had 16 points and six rebounds versus Columbia last Monday and followed that with a 19-13 double-double in the win over Radford in Akron, Ohio on Saturday. The 19 points tied his career high and his 13 rebounds set a new career mark.
He shot .696 for the week (16-of-23).
Marcus Weathers.

The Dukes are off to their best start in 51 years at 9-0. Fellow Duke Michael Hughes was given the A-10 honor last week.
Keith Dambrot’s club next plays Austin Peay on Saturday afternoon in the first of two games at the St. Pete Shootout in St. Petersburg, Fl.
