Wednesday’s “First Call” looks at the latest Steeler to tempt J.J. Watt to Pittsburgh. Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph finds himself in another celebrity romance. The Pirates’ misery loves company. And video of Adam “Pacman” Jones’ barroom brawl video has hit the internet.
JuJu woos J.J.
Other teams may be courting Houston Texans free agent defensive lineman J.J. Watt. But that’s not going to stop Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster.
Even though JuJu is a free agent himself.
As Steelers Wire noted, Smith-Schuster jumped on DeAndre Hopkins’ Instagram thread. The Arizona Cardinals wide receiver used to be Watt’s teammate in Houston. Now he is recruiting Watt to the Valley of the Sun by posting a photo of the two men embracing as Houston teammates with the caption, “Let’s finish what we started.”

But, as you may have been able to see, Smith-Schuster climbed into the comments section with, “Come play with your brothers.” That’s, of course, in reference to current Steelers fullback Derek Watt and outside linebacker T.J. Watt.
Well, emotional manipulation through former teammates or brotherly status may not be enough. Word from Cleveland and from Houston is that J.J. Watt may be leaning towards signing with the Browns.
The Tennessee Titans have also reportedly reached out to Watt’s reps.
Instagram official
The long-rumored romance between Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph and Canadian tennis star Eugenie Bouchard is now official.
Well, Instagram official.

And, obviously, that’s all that matters.
The couple posted photos of a Valentine’s weekend getaway to Cabo San Lucas. Via 24/7 Sports, “Bouchard was a Top 5 player in the world at one point in 2014. She never won a Grand Slam but reached the finals at Wimbledon in 2014 and twice appeared as a semifinalist at the French Open and Australian Open.”
She had previously dated Connor Davis, Hannah Jeter’s brother. Rudolph has previously been linked to “Bachelor” star Hannah Ann Sluss.
Is that possible?
Believe it or not, there are two teams in Major League Baseball with a worse chance of winning their division than the Pirates.
No. Seriously. I’m not kidding.
According to Fangraphs, the Pirates have a 0.4% chance of winning the National League Central. But there are actually two teams with longer odds. The Colorado Rockies are only given a 0.1% chance of winning the N.L. West. And the Baltimore Orioles have a Blutarsky-esque 0.0% chance of winning the American League East.

What?! No chance? Whatsoever? Is that even mathematically possible? I’m not sure that it is. But who cares?
Take that, Baltimore! Eat it, Denver! We are a Fam-I-Lee!
A dysfunctional Fam-I-Lee. But a Fam-I-Lee nonetheless.
Now, to be clear, that’s not necessarily saying that the Pirates are better than the Orioles or Rockies. Those numbers are just saying that the Pirates have a remotely higher percentage of making the playoffs. That’s all.
Because let’s face it. Our Buccos have some problems.
Derek Shelton’s focus will be on finding starters at shortstop and center field and helping his corner outfielders rediscover their swing after sub-.200 seasons. #Pirateshttps://t.co/ai3cS7eYzV— Tribune-ReviewSports (@TribSports) February 16, 2021
Oh, gee. Is that all?
Poor Pacman
You gotta feel bad for Adam “Pacman” Jones, don’t you?
I mean, the guy has never once — no, not ever — done anything wrong. Yet trouble keeps finding him.
Strange, huh?
As we told you during Tuesday’s “First Call,” the former Bengals cornerback was involved in a barroom fracas in Cincinnati over the weekend. Now a TMZ video of that incident has emerged.
TMZ ran these quotes from the witness who shot the video.
“Pacman pushed his way back in and it started getting aggressive,” the witness said. “Pacman knocked the security guy out then proceeded to kick the guy in the head multiple times. That’s when a lot of the staff stepped in and my video starts.”
Shortly thereafter, police arrived and Pacman was arrested.
No. Vontaze Burfict was not involved. This time.
