Pittsburgh Steelers fans on the Kyler Murray bandwagon may have to jump off soon. A former Steelers defensive lineman has a new home — and he’s not coming back to Pittsburgh. The Penguins continue their road trip in Las Vegas.
And postseason accolades are rolling in for the resurgent Robert Morris men’s hockey team.
Murray visits Minnesota
For those hoping the Steelers will land quarterback Kyler Murray instead of waiting for Aaron Rodgers, things are looking bad. He is going to visit the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday.
John Gambadoro of 98.7 FM in Phoenix reported on Wednesday that landing a starting job like the one in Minnesota is a still priority for the former Cardinal. But Murray’s camp is going to explore several 2026 backup options as well. One of those may be sitting behind Matthew Stafford with the Los Angeles Rams.
The NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero published a similar report.
The Vikings plan to make a push for Kyler Murray and are the favorite to land the former No. 1 overall pick, sources tell me and @RapSheet.

Murray is now 28. He has seven NFL seasons under his belt, playing in one playoff game. Statistically, he has completed 67.1% of his passes for 20,460 yards and a 92.2 passer rating (121-60 TD-INT ratio).
On the ground, the Oklahoma product posted 3,193 rushing yards and 32 rushing scores in 87 regular season games.
Not going far
Former Steelers defensive lineman Javon Hargrave was informed that he’d be released in advance of free agency by the Minnesota Vikings.
It didn’t take long for Hargrave to find a new place to play. Nor does he even have to leave the division.
The Green Bay Packers have put pen to paper with the 33-year-old defensive tackle. ESPN.com reports he’s getting a two-year, $23 million contract which includes $13 million in the first year.

A year ago in Minnesota, Hargrave managed 18 solo tackles, 3½ sacks and a forced fumble. Since leaving Pittsburgh after the 2019 season, Hargrave has made the Super Bowl and the Pro Bowl twice. He has played in Philadelphia, San Francisco and Minnesota.
Not so golden
The Penguins opened their five-game road trip by grabbing one point in Carolina. Now they are looking for more in Las Vegas on Thursday night.
The Golden Knights are struggling badly. They’ve dropped three in a row and six of their past seven. During that time, Bruce Cassidy’s group has been averaging just 1.86 goals per game.
One of those rough losses for Vegas was in Pittsburgh on March 1. The Pens took that contest 5-0.
The Knights’ power play is still good, though. At 25.4% it ranks third in the NHL. The Pens are fifth at 25.1%. Their penalty kill is top 10 as well, at 81.5% (Pittsburgh is second at 84.3%). However, they have allowed 145 goals 5-on-5, seventh-most in hockey.
In the Pacific Division, Vegas is in a second-place tie with Edmonton at 72 points apiece. That’s three points behind division leading Anaheim. The Penguins are also tied for second place in their division with the New York Islanders. They’ve both got 79 points, nine back of Metropolitan Division leading Carolina.

Colonial call
As the Robert Morris hockey team prepares for its semifinal series at Sacred Heart this weekend, a number of the team’s players received some postseason recognition.
Forward Tanner Klimpke and sophomore defenseman Dominic Elliott were each named to the All-Atlantic Hockey America Second Team. Meanwhile, freshman blueliner John Babcock earned a spot on the AHA All-Rookie Team.
Klimpke has been the team’s most consistent scorer, leading the Colonials in goals (14), assists (15) and points (29).

Elliott was on the AHA All-Rookie Team during the 2024-25 season. This year, the sophomore leads all Colonial blueliners in goals (6), assists (13) and points (19). He also owns a team-best plus/minus rating of +5 and ranks second on the team with 83 blocked shots.
Babcock leads the conference in blocked shots with 117 this season. He has been named AHA Defenseman of the Week in each of the past two weeks and is on a five-game point streak (3g-3a).

For the season, Babcock has recorded four goals and eight assists for 12 points.
If the third-seeded Colonials upset second-seeded SHU this weekend, they’ll play a one game championship against either Bentley or Holy Cross to determine who gets the NCAA Tournament bid from the AHA.
