New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady sits on the bench during the NFL wild-card playoff football game against the Tennessee Titans on Jan. 4, 2020, in Foxborough, Mass.

In “First Call” Wednesday, people are laughing at New England’s pain. The NHL player proposal to restart the season stinks. And Marc-Andre Fleury looks like he is in the weeds of a quarantine.

Now it is our turn

No one is making this easy on New England.

Legendary quarterback Tom Brady is abandoning the Patriots via free agency to play in the NFC South with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

And the world is basking in the sorrow of the entire region.

After 18 years of NFL dominance, nine Super Bowls, six titles and 2 ½ cheating controversies, I think we all earned this.

The ‘Tool Man’

Former Penguins star Marc-Andre Fleury is making the most of the NHL downtime during the coronavirus “pause” on the hockey season.

His wife, Veronique, wanted to let us know what he was doing.

The Vegas Golden Knights goalie appears to be building…

… something.

I don’t know what kind of Tyco project that is. And I’m not sure Fleury knows either.

But I’m sure there are still some Penguins fans who would tell him that Tomáš Vokoun could build it better.

So much for that!

Remember when former Steelers nose tackle Javon Hargrave was the highest paid nose tackle in the NFL?

Way back when. For about a day.

Like, Monday.

This after he inked a $39 million deal with the Philadelphia Eagles Monday.

That didn’t last long.

Sorry, Wobble. Fame is fleeting.

Wait a minute. Did that say… Bengals?!

Like the ones in Cincinnati? That has to be a misprint.

This needs work

Here’s the NHL player proposal for how the league could come back from the covid-19 stoppage.

Nah. I like my plan better.

Let me tell you something, if the both the players and owners are THAT desperate to get this season going again, to get every paycheck and every gate receipt, then maybe this league is still more desperate than I thought.

If the players want to push the season that deep into the summer, then delay the regular season for that long into the fall of 2020, they better be ready for an incredibly tiring, compact and condensed schedule.

One more year!

Upper St. Clair star Sean Lee thinks he has at least one more year in his body.

And he’ll be staying in Dallas.

Oft-injured, but often productive, Lee signed a one-year $4.5 million contract to stay in Texas. Last year, Lee started 13 games and played in all 16 for the first time in his career.

The former Penn State star has missed 51 games since his start in the NFL. But he has still managed to carve out a nine-year career with the Cowboys, resulting in two Pro Bowls and an All-Pro nomination.
