Vegas Golden Knights goalie Marc-Andre Fleury reacts to the win over the Chicago Blackhawks in an NHL hockey Stanley Cup first-round playoff series, Saturday, Aug. 15, 2020, in Edmonton, Alberta.

It’s a busy “First Call” for Monday morning. Former Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury finds himself at the center of a controversy — thanks to his agent’s Twitter account.

A West Virginia four-year-old gets a hole-in-one. Lamar Jackson is nicked up. The Cleveland Browns avoid a coronavirus scare.

And Luka Doncic shoots down the Los Angeles Clippers in the best way possible.

Subtle

It appears Marc-Andre Fleury’s agent is none too happy with the goalie situation in Las Vegas.

On Saturday, Alan Walsh tweeted this photo of the former Penguin wearing a Vegas Golden Knights jersey, while getting stabbed in the back.

In very dramatic fashion.

That sword is engraved with the name of Golden Knights coach Peter DeBoer.

Fleury has only gotten two starts since the round robin began in the Edmonton bubble. Robin Lehner was given the other seven.

By Sunday, Walsh had deleted the tweet.

Via ESPN.com, Fleury said, “He always protects and cares a lot about his players, and cares a lot about me. I really appreciate his passion for the game. I think this was maybe a way to defend me in this situation. But I’m here to win with my team. To have success. That’s what matters.”

Fleury claims that he asked Walsh to remove the image.

Sunday night the Golden Knights began their Western Conference semifinal against the Vancouver Canucks. Vegas won Game 1 behind 26 saves from Lehner in a 5-0 shutout.

Jackson jacked up

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is battling an injury.

“We’ve got a couple guys. Marcus Peters is another one. Justice Hill is another one. Who have some soft tissue things. (We would) just rather be safe with those guys right now and give those things a chance to get better and be right,” said Ravens head coach John Harbaugh.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter says it’s a groin injury and the reigning MVP should be back Monday.

On Saturday, assistant head coach David Culley said Jackson was getting a day off to rest his arm.

Geez, that’s even bad by NHL “upper body/lower body” misses, isn’t it?

Browns reopen

A BioReference facility in New Jersey apparently gave a lot of false positive covid-19 test results to multiple NFL teams.

The Cleveland Browns was one of those teams. As a result, the team initially canceled practice and closed its facility.

But when the test results were straightened out, football activity resumed. And the facility reopened.

The Pittsburgh Steelers released a statement Sunday saying six players missed practice Saturday because of covid-19 protocol, but all six will be returning to meetings Sunday and practice Monday.

Among the other clubs reportedly impacted were the Detroit Lions, New England Patriots, Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings.

Memory of a lifetime

If he can remember it.

Rocco Figaretti got a hole in one. As a four-year-old.

Rocco’s hole in one occurred at Wheeling’s Oglebay Park Par 3 golf course.

“He swings right-handed with a left-handed grip and it works for him, so I don’t think we’re going to switch it,” Mario Figaretti told WTOV-9.

Just think how good the kid is going to be when he figures out that part.

Speaking of big shots

How about this buzzer-beater from Luka Doncic?!

That won the game for the Dallas Mavericks against the Los Angeles Clippers in overtime Sunday, 135-133. Doncic had 43 points, 17 rebounds and 13 assists along the way. That victory tied the series at two games apiece.

It was just 40 hours after Doncic appeared to suffer a significant ankle sprain. It was also in the wake of Los Angeles’ Montrezl Harrell using racially derogatory language toward Doncic in Game 3.
