Praying for Papi
Red Sox legend Pedro Martinez reached out to former teammate David Ortiz on Sunday night after Ortiz was shot in his native Dominican Republic.
I’m at peace knowing you out of danger; you a strong man Compai, can’t wait to hear your voice. My thoughts and prayers are with you, see you soon. Me siento tranquilo de saber que estás fuera de peligro, usted es fuerte Compai, ya quiero oírle la voz. Police say Ortiz was at the Dial Bar and Lounge in Santo Domingo around 8:50 p.m. Sunday when a gunman approached from behind and shot him at close range.
Starling Marte of the Pirates, showed his support, as well. Marte and Ortiz are both from Santo Domingo in the Domincan Republic.

A.J. is OK
Cincinnati receiver A.J. Green is entering the last year of his contract. Many have wondered if he’ll just play it out and hit free agency.
But Green is saying he’d like to stay with the Bengals.
AJ Green: "I can't see myself playing anywhere else."#Bengals @fox19 pic.twitter.com/O1mjBfkkT8— Jeremy Rauch (@FOX19Jeremy) June 8, 2019
“Cincinnati is home for me,” Green told FOX19 in Cincy at his football camp. “All I know is Cincinnati. I can’t see myself playing anywhere else or playing in a different city. Hopefully I can be here for a couple more years.”
Green says he is cleared to participate in football activities. He had offseason toe surgery. Minicamp starts this week. He has 8,907 yards and 63 touchdowns during his nine years with the Bengals.
Mad MadbumMadison Bumgarner is mad.
At Max Muncy.
The Giants pitcher started yelling at the Dodgers infielder after Muncy hit a first-inning home run against him Sunday.

Bumgarner was calm after the game. But you can tell he still was a bit upset.
Bumgarner was asked about his exchange with Muncy after the game. He was adamant that he's not changing:"Let me be myself, that’s me. I’d just as soon fight than walk or whatever."#SFGiants pic.twitter.com/1R06rb439B

Muncy had a pretty good quote after the game.

That homer ended up being the only run of the game as L.A. won 1-0.
That didn’t work so wellBryce Harper tried to get sneaky over the weekend.
And it didn’t work. The Phillies star attempted to steal home against Reds right-hander Sonny Gray. And Gray wasn’t fooled.

For as dead to rights as Harper was, I think the broadcasters in that clip are right. I wonder if that tag really beat the slide.
The Reds won 4-3.
Meanwhile, Texas’ Rougned Odor tried the same move and made it work.

That’s why it’s better to try that stunt against a lefty. Unfortunately for Odor and the Rangers, they lost 9-8 to Oakland.
Poking fun at PamPam from “The Office” was taking a little heat on Twitter last night.
Jenna Fischer made an appearance on the NBC broadcast of Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final on Sunday. And she seemed ready for a Stanley Cup celebration.

Here’s the problem. The Bruins won 5-1 and forced Game 7 back in Boston Saturday.
