First Call: Myles Garrett vents after loss to Steelers; Trey Hendrickson hurt in Cincy; JuJu Smith-Schuster's postgame fight
Monday’s “First Call” has a pouty reaction from Myles Garrett after his Cleveland Browns lost in Pittsburgh on Sunday. The Steelers are going to face a Cincinnati Bengals team Thursday night that will be depleted by injuries on both sides of the ball.
Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh was asked if he is about to make coaching changes on his staff. JuJu Smith-Schuster was part of a postgame dust-up in Kansas City involving a member of the Detroit Lions’ secondary.
And we provide a weekend recap for the NHL and college hockey.
Mad Myles
Myles Garrett was a ghost Sunday in Pittsburgh. As his Browns were losing 23-9 to the Steelers, Garrett contributed just two tackles, none solo, none for a loss and no sacks. The All-Pro knows exactly who to blame.
His own offense.
According to ESPN.com, Garrett is putting his empty performance on the backs of his teammates on the other side of the ball because he can’t generate a pass rush when his team is trailing most of the time.

"Must be nice."

Garrett also said it is “frustrating” to lose “the same way every time.” Cleveland hasn’t scored more than 17 points in a game yet this season.

The Browns’ offense averages just 281.5 yards per game, 27th in the NFL. Their point total of 13.7 per contest is dead last.
Banged-up Bengals
We already knew the Cincinnati Bengals (2-4) had some injury concerns coming into their game Sunday against the Green Bay Packers (3-1-1). Things didn’t get much better during the 27-18 defeat.
Star pass rusher Trey Hendrickson left the game with a back injury in the second quarter. He didn’t return after halftime. He only had two tackles before his exit.

Tight end Mike Gesicki also left the game with a left pectoral injury. Now the Bengals have a quick turnaround before hosting the Steelers on Thursday night.

Changes coming?
The Baltimore Ravens also lost Sunday, 17-3, to the Los Angeles Rams. They have a much-needed bye coming up after falling to 1-5.
Following the defeat, head coach John Harbaugh was asked if he plans on making any coaching changes during the downtime.
“I don’t really have any plans to do that. I don’t think there’s any obvious move there that would make us better,” Harbaugh said via the Associated Press. “I appreciate you asking. It’s a tough one. I don’t know why that always comes up, really. I guess maybe it’s part of it. But I love our guys; they work hard. And I think they’re doing a good job.”
Defensive coordinator Zach Orr’s job has been a hot topic of discussion in Baltimore. But in this game, the Ravens’ defensive players actually contained Los Angeles’ offense fairly well, yielding just 17 points and 241 yards. It was just the second time Baltimore held an opponent under 37 points this season.
Aside from the Steelers, the rest of the AFC North is on a collective losing streak of 11 games.
Tempers flare
Former Steeler JuJu Smith-Schuster was at the center of a postgame scuffle Sunday night. His Kansas City Chiefs beat the Detroit Lions at home 30-17.
After the game, Smith-Schuster went over to Detroit’s Brian Branch and tried to shake his hand. The defensive back responded by shoving the K.C. receiver in the face.

A fracas ensued, and Smith-Schuster ended up with a bloody nose. Branch was apparently upset because Smith-Schuster had blocked him in the back before the end of the game.

During his postgame press conference, Lions coach Dan Campbell apologized for Branch’s actions and claimed “what he did is inexcusable, and it’s not gonna be accepted.”
Shaved ice
After beating the Pittsburgh Penguins, 6-1, on Saturday, Mike Sullivan’s New York Rangers dropped a 1-0 contest in Washington on Sunday. One of Sullivan’s former Pens scored the only goal of the game.
It was Anthony Beauvillier at 13:47 of the second period. It was his first of the year. Alex Ovechkin and Declan Chisholm set him up.

Charlie Lindgren recorded the shutout. He made 35 saves. The Capitals are now 2-1-0. New York is 2-2-0.
As for the Penguins (2-1-0), their next game is Tuesday night in Anaheim (1-1-0).
On the college level, Pittsburgh’s Dane Dowiak scored the game-winner as Penn State came back from a 2-0 deficit over Clarkson on Friday night to earn a split in that series with a 5-2 victory. J.J. Wiebusch scored again after posting four goals on Thursday. Gavin McKenna didn’t produce a point Friday.
And at Robert Morris, the women’s hockey team split its two-game series with RIT, winning 4-1 on Friday and losing 5-1 on Saturday. The men’s team opens its regular season Thursday and Friday at Michigan.

Editor’s note: The score of the Ravens-Rams contest was corrected from 17-13 to 17-3.
