Ed Falatovich, 59, of Hempfield Township helps stock the lake by tossing a net full of brook and rainbow trout into Twin Lakes Park in Hempfield Township, on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2019.

• As a result of a recent stocking, Blue Spruce Lake is offering up plenty of trout to anglers fishing its waters. Most of the catches were brook trout and brown trout. Fishermen are utilizing live bait and seeing solid results.

• Fishermen at Shenango Reservoir are catching a variety of fish, including white bass, hybrid striped bass and crappie. The bass are being found throughout the lake, according to reports, while the crappie are congregating in the deeper pockets of water.

• At Pine Creek, fishermen are doing well with rainbow trout. A recent fall stocking has left the creek teeming with trout as anglers are reporting plenty of success with live bait.

• In Greene County, the Monongahela River is yielding flathead catfish and a few walleye. Fishermen are finding success using live bait for both fish, with minnows being best for the walleye and cut bait performing well for the catfish.

• The Allegheny River in Clarion County is a spot worth visiting for those who are looking to pick up some walleye. The dawn and dusk hours are when fishermen are seeing the most action. Smallmouth bass are more active during the day here as well. There also were a few channel catfish catches reported, though most are coming at night.

• Lake Rowena is giving up trout in good numbers to anglers who are using minnows and wax worms as bait.

• Anglers fishing Lake LeBouef are gearing up with spoons and enjoying a consistent musky bite.

• The walleye action is slowing down at Lake Erie but the rate of lake trout catches appears to be increasing. While the walleye are being found in the deeper portions of the lake, the trout are mostly swimming in the northeast part of the marina.

• Northern pike are biting at Lake Pleasant as fishermen are reporting the most success around the western end of the lake. According to reports, spinnerbaits are working well.

• Cascade Quarry recently was stocked, and as a result, anglers are bringing in trout at a consistent rate. Pastebaits are working well but the bait of choice appears to be rubber worms.
