The Pittsburgh Pirates made another round of cuts from big-league camp Thursday that included a former first-round pick.
Second baseman Termarr Johnson, the No. 4 overall selection in 2022, was one of eight players reassigned to minor-league camp.
The 21-year-old Johnson batted .272/.363/.382 with 15 doubles, three triples, nine home runs and 35 RBIs in 119 games at Double-A Altoona last season. He hit .368 (7 for 19) with one double, one triple and five RBIs, five strikeouts and five walks in 12 Grapefruit League games.

Catcher Derek Berg, infielders Nick Cimillo, Duce Gourson and Davis Wendzel, left-handed pitchers Nick Dombkowski and Oddanier Mosqueda and outfielder Ronny Simon also were cut.
Cimillo homered twice in Grapefruit League games, including one in the ninth inning Wednesday against Baltimore. Against the Orioles, Simon played in his first game since suffering a season-ending shoulder injury last August at Boston.
There are now 46 players (45 active) in big-league camp.
