Kahliel Spear, who led Bucknell in blocked shots last season mainly in a reserve role, has transferred to Robert Morris with two years of eligibility remaining. He won’t be eligible until the 2021-22 season, according to NCAA transfer rules.

Spear (6-foot-7, 207 pounds) played the past two seasons at Bucknell, appearing in 46 games, with two starts. He recorded 26 blocks last season while averaging 4.8 points and 3.2 rebounds and shooting 52.4 percent from the floor.

He nearly compiled a double-double in Bucknell’s opener, with 10 points, nine rebounds and two blocks in a 68-64 victory at Fairfield. He also scored a career-high 20 points, with nine rebounds and two blocks, in a 72-68 victory against American.

“Kahliel is a talented frontcourt player that has potential on both the offensive and defensive ends,” Robert Morris coach Andy Toole said.

“We like that he’s really active on the glass and is also good at defending the rim. We’re excited to get him into the program and watch him develop in the next few years.”

Spear is a native of Colony, Texas.
