A couple of former star linebackers from Central Catholic are moving on to new Power 4 college programs.
Anthony Speca, who entered the transfer portal after Penn State’s coaching change — James Franklin out, Matt Campbell in — is staying in the the Big Ten with Purdue.
He has three years of eligibility remaining.
Cole Sullivan, meanwhile, who began his college career at Michigan, is headed to Oklahoma.
Speca (6-1, 226), a rising redshirt sophomore who has the Central Catholic career tackles record of 326, played in 11 games this season for Penn State, four on defense, and made six tackles.
He has 14 tackles in 17 career games.
Sullivan (6-3, 230), who will be a junior, had a breakout season as he made 44 tackles, five for loss, and had two sacks and three interceptions for the Wolverines before putting his name in the portal.
He made seven stops in the Citrus Bowl against Texas. He played in 12 games as a freshman.
