Former Ligonier Valley star Maddy Grimm voted an ASBA all-star
Former Ligonier Valley star Maddy Grimm will play in the American Softball Association All-Star Game Saturday night at Pat Hick Field in Alabama.
A power-hitting shortstop and third baseman for Team moh-BEEL! USA, Grimm was voted into the game, which will benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
A league MVP candidate out of Kent State, Grimm leads the second-year professional ASBA in home runs, with 12, and is second in RBIs (29) and runs scored (19) in 17 games. She is batting .400.
Grimm served as an assistant coach at Pitt last season. Formerly, she played for the Akron Racers in the National Pro Fastpitch league.
