North Carolina State’s Lyndon Cooper runs off the field on Oct. 7, 2023, in Raleigh, N.C.

After veteran guards Jake Kradel and Blake Zubovic exhausted their eligibility and tackle Matt Goncalves declared for the NFL Draft, Pitt needed help on its offensive line. Coach Pat Narduzzi looked inside the ACC to find it.

Former N.C. State guard/center Lyndon Cooper announced Thursday night on X his decision to transfer to Pitt.

Cooper (6-foot-2, 312 pounds) is a versatile lineman who was a center during his first two seasons at N.C. State, but he also can play guard. Pitt will give him the opportunity to earn playing time at both positions. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

His sophomore season this year was interrupted by injury.

Narduzzi has looked deep into the transfer portal this offseason in hopes of quickly rebuilding a team that finished 3-9 in 2023. Cooper is the ninth transfer to verbally commit to Pitt since the end of the season.
