Former Penguin Colby Armstrong talks about trading Evgeni Malkin
Our first Sided.co podcast of May features former Pittsburgh Penguins winger Colby Armstrong. He joined me on 105.9 the X Friday.
The AT&T Sportsnet hockey analyst gives his opinion on the idea of trading Evgeni Malkin, or some other high-profile Penguins.
Armstrong seems to think that the better route for the Penguins to take is to make a few smaller moves instead of at least one mega-trade like that. Many Penguins fans online seem to agree.
I’ll tell you why I don’t think that approach will work.
Also, Armstrong gives us an unreal account about his NHL draft experience. I asked him what it was like to see the city for the first time, after getting selected by the Pens, as linebacker Devin Bush just did with the Steelers.
Armstrong’s memories of his first trip to town weren’t as positive. Why, you ask?
Sept. 11th. That’s why.
