Former Pittsburgh Penguins forward Adam Payerl has signed with the Ravensburg Towerstars of the Deutschen Eishockey Liga 2 (DEL2), the second-tier league in that country.

That team announced the transaction via a release on Friday.

A native of Kitchener, Ont., the 33-year-old Payerl has spent most of the past six seasons playing in Germany’s top-tier DEL.

Payerl, a right-handed shot, played in two games for the Penguins during the 2013-14 season and did not record a point. A member of the organization for parts of four seasons during the early 2010s, Payerl primarily suited up for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League during that span.
