Former Penguins forward Jansen Harkins has signed a two-year contract with the Anaheim Ducks. The deal carries a reported salary cap hit of $787,500.

The Penguins acquired Harkins off waivers from the Winnipeg Jets on Oct. 2 and he spent most of the season on the franchise’s NHL rosters.

Primarily deployed as a bottom-six winger, Harkins (6-foot-2, 197 pounds) appeared in 45 games and recorded four assists while averaging 8:12 of ice time per contest.

A left-handed shot, Harkins also played in 14 American Hockey League contests and scored 12 points (five goals, seven assists).

Harkins, 27, just completed a two-year contract with a salary cap hit of $850,000.
