Forward Zach Boychuk appeared in seven games for the Penguins in the 2012-13 season.

Former Pittsburgh Penguins forward Zach Boychuk has signed with HK Olimpija Ljubljana, a team in Slovenia that competes in the International Central European Hockey League.

That team announced the transaction via social media Monday.

Boychuk, 35, spent the past five seasons with Eisbären Berlin in Germany’s Deutsche Eishockey Liga, winning that league’s championship each of the past two seasons.

In 46 games during the 2024-25 campaign, Boychuk scored 35 points (12 goals, 23 assists).

A native of Airdrie, Alberta, the left-handed Boychuk had a brief tenure with the Penguins, appearing in seven games during the 2012-13 season with no points.

In addition to the Penguins, Boychuk skated for the Carolina Hurricanes and Nashville Predators during his time in the NHL.

The ICEHL has teams in Austria, Italy, Hungary and Slovenia.
