Former Penguins forward Zach Still signs in Italy

Former Pittsburgh Penguins forward Zach Sill has signed with HC Pustertal, a team based in Italy that competes in Austria’s International Central European Hockey League (ICEHL).

The team announced the transaction via a release on Tuesday.

Sill, 34, spent parts of six seasons with the Penguins organization during the 2010s, including two on the NHL roster in 2013-14 and 2014-15. Appearing in 62 NHL contests for the Penguins, Sill scored three points (one goal, two assists).

He also spent time with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Washington Capitals.

A native of Truro, Nova Scotia, Sill has spent the past six seasons playing in Europe, primarily in Germany’s Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL).

In 2022-23, Sill appeared in 47 games and scored 12 points (three goals, 12 assists) with Kölner Haie of the DEL.
