Former Pitt defensive tackle Jaylen Twyman, a sixth-round draft choice of the Minnesota Vikings this year, was shot four times while visiting a family member in Washington, D.C., but he is expected to make a full recovery, his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told ESPN on Monday.
“Wrong place, wrong time,” Rosenhaus said. “In talking to him (Monday), he’s going to be OK. That’s all that matters. We’re thankful he’s OK. He will make a full recovery.”
Vikings have been apprised of the situation with Jaylen Twyman, who was in a car when he was shot. There were superficial, exit wounds, Drew Rosenhaus said. Twyman does not need surgery. Xrays were negative. The anticipation is he will make a full recovery. https://t.co/6UjwkRV1bY

Vikings’ rookie DT Jaylen Twyman was shot in the arm, leg, buttocks and shoulder, per his agent Drew Rosenhaus.. Twyman is expected to be released from the hospital this week and “there doesn’t appear to be any long-term injuries that would prohibit him from playing this season.”

Rosenhaus told ESPN Tuesday morning that Twyman was shot in the arm, leg, buttocks and shoulder, and may be released from the hospital before the end of the week. Rosenhaus added, “There doesn’t appear to be any long-term injuries that would prohibit him from playing this season.”
The Vikings drafted Twyman after he sat out the 2020 season to prepare for his professional career. He was a second-team All-America in 2019 when he was the first interior lineman to lead Pitt in sacks (10½) since Aaron Donald in 2013.
