Linebacker Todd Hill, who helped lead Steel Valley to WPIAL championships in 2016 and 2018 and a PIAA title in 2016, announced on his Twitter account that he is transferring from Duquesne to Pitt.

Hill (5-foot-10, 240 pounds) was an elite pass rusher last season at Duquesne, recording 11 1/2 sacks among his 22 tackles for a loss, plus 10 quarterback hurries and one forced fumble. He recorded one of his sacks against Florida State in the Dukes’ 2022 opener and ended the season as a first-team All-Northeast Conference selection.
He played three seasons for Duquesne and is joining the Panthers as a walkon and graduate transfer.
Hill was a four-year starter at Steel Valley, leading the Ironmen in tackles in each season. He also rushed for 1,700 yards and 36 touchdowns.
“A genuine kid, a student of the game,” Steel Valley coach Rod Steele said. “Plays with a motor, plays aggressively, plays with sportsmanship. One of those gems you only get so many of in your coaching career. He earned the respect of not only his teammates, but everybody he played. At the end of the day, he was just a great one.”
Steel Valley was 48-5 during Hill’s four seasons playing middle linebacker and nose guard, but he was used as an edge rusher by the Dukes.
