Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Ola Adeniyi works on a drill at practice during NFL football training camp on Monday, Aug. 13, 2018.

Continuing their raid on former Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebackers, the Tennessee Titans on Monday agreed to terms with Ola Adeniyi on a one-year contract. NFL Network, citing Adeniyi’s agent as the source, reported the signing.

This deal, of course, pales in comparison to the five-year, $82.5 million contract that the Titans gave to Bud Dupree last week.

Adeniyi’s deal likely will be near the NFL minimum salary after the Steelers allowed him to become a free agent when they declined to tender him a contract as a restricted free agent.

A three-year veteran and undrafted free agent from Toledo, Adeniyi appeared in 31 of 32 regular-season games with the Steelers over the past two seasons, making one start. He primarily played on special teams with the Steelers, playing only 14% of the defensive snaps last season. He had 16 tackles, including one for a loss, in 2020.

After earning $750,000 last season, Adeniyi was due a minimum increase to $2.133 million as a right-of-first-refusal restricted free agent. The Steelers declined to tender an offer, making Adeniyi free to sign with other teams once free agency began last week.
