In 15 games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins last season, defenseman Colton Poolman scored four points (one goal, three assists).

Former Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins defenseman Colton Poolman has signed a one-year contract with the Glasgow Clan, a team based in Scotland that competes in the United Kingdom’s Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL).

That team announced the transaction via a release on Saturday.

A native of East Grand Forks, Minn, the 29-year-old Poolman completed the 2024-25 contract signed with the Pittsburgh Penguins but never played for the club.

Acquired in a trade with the Buffalo Sabres on Jan. 3, Poolman appeared in 15 American Hockey League (AHL) games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and scored four points (one goal, three assists).

Poolman, a left-handed shot, was signed to a one-year, two-way contract that carried a salary cap hit of $775,000 last season.

Following this transaction, defenseman Matt Grzelcyk and forward Matt Nieto are the only players who finished last season under an NHL contract with the Penguins who remain unsigned, either with an NHL or AHL club or a squad in Europe.
