In 22 games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins last season, forward Mathias Laferriere scored eight points (three goals, five assists).

Former Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins forward Mathias Laferriere signed with HK Spisska Nova Ves of the Slovak Extraliga.

That team announced the transaction via social media on Saturday. Terms were not specified.

Laferriere joined Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Feb. 12 as a result of a trade between the Pittsburgh Penguins and St. Louis Blues. In 22 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Laferriere scored eight points (three goals, five assists).

He was never recalled to the NHL roster following the trade.

A native of Montreal, the 25-year-old Laferriere was signed to a one-year, two-way contract that carried a salary cap hit of $775,000 last season.

Following this transaction, four players who finished last season under contract with the Penguins remain unsigned, either with an NHL or American Hockey League club or a squad in Europe:

Forwards — Emil Bemstrom, Matt Nieto

Defensemen — Matt Grzelcyk, Colton Poolman
