Forward Yegor Chinakhov is expected to make his debut for the Pittsburgh Penguins in Thursday’s game against the Detroit Red Wings at PPG Paints Arena.

During Thursday’s morning skate in Cranberry, Chinakhov skated on the right wing of the third line with Ben Kindel at center and Rutger McGroarty on the left wing. Chinakhov also worked on the second power-play unit.

The Penguins acquired Chinakhov in a trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday. He arrived in Pittsburgh on Tuesday morning but was unable to suit up for that night’s 5-1 home win against the Carolina Hurricanes.

In 29 games with the Blue Jackets this season, Chinakhov has six points (three goals, three assists) while averaging 10:18 of ice time.

Chinakhov has been issued No. 59 for his jersey.
