Pitt’s Damarri Mathis dives into the end for a pick six against New Hampshire in the first quarter on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021 at Heinz Field.

At one point in their lives, the NFL seemed far into the future for Pitt quarterback Kenny Pickett and some of his teammates.

But it came into focus for four players Monday when they received invitations to the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., Feb. 5, 2022. The Senior Bowl is one of the premier postseason all-star games. Its practice sessions and the game are attended by many NFL scouts, coaches and executives.

Congratulations to @kennypickett10 @CalAdomitis @Damarri15 @CarterWarren79 for EARNING their Invite to the Reese’s @seniorbowl‼️????????

Pickett will be joined by Pitt long snapper Cal Adomitis, cornerback Damarri Mathis and offensive left tackle Carter Warren.

Adomitis, a Central Catholic graduate, has been Pitt’s long snapper for five seasons since 2017.

Mathis, a native of Lakeland, Fla., missed the 2020 season with an injury, but he has played in 47 games with 23 starts since 2017. He has two of his five career interceptions this season, including a Pick 6 against New Hampshire on Sept. 25.

Warren, a native of Paterson, N.J., has protected Pickett’s blind side in 32 career starts.

Pickett has set several Pitt season and career records, including all-time passing yardage (11,841) and total offense (12,626). He set a school record for yards in a season (3,857) in Pitt’s ACC Coastal-clinching victory Saturday against Virginia. He is on the cusp of becoming the first Pitt quarterback to throw for 4,000 yards after hitting the 3,000 mark twice (including 2019).

Congratulations to @Taysir_mack for EARNING an invite to the @NFLPABowl‼️????
