Fox Chapel’s Gregor Meyer holds the first-round lead at the Westmoreland County Amateur.

Gregor Meyer shot a 1-under par 69 on his home course to grab the first-round lead Saturday at the annual Westmoreland County Amateur at Hannastown Golf Club.

The final round is slated for Sunday.

Earlier this week, Meyer, of Fox Chapel, shot a 62 at Edgewood Country Club at a Pennsylvania Golf Association Open qualifier. He was the medalist at the PAGA Amateur qualifier at Hannastown last month.

The DeNunzio twins — Ronald and David — along with B.J. Torau and Palmer Jackson are tied for second at 1-over par 71.

Darin Kowalski and Sean Knapp are tied for sixth at 3-over, while Zach Metcalfe and Brian Fajt are tied for eighth at 4-over. Kevin Fajt and Josh Vasilko are 5-over.

Meyer attends High Point University.
