When one of Pitt’s graduate assistants heard a scream coming from coach Pat Narduzzi’s office Sunday morning, he walked in to see if something was wrong.

Actually, it was good news.

Cornerback Tee Denson of Atlanta told Narduzzi he planned to enroll at Pitt next year.

“He was just really excited,” said Denson (given name Tennilius). “He jumped up and started screaming. A GA walked in the room. He thought something bad happened.”

Denson, a three-star prospect with 28 scholarship offers, is the fourth high school senior in the past two days to announce his commitment to Pitt. Narduzzi’s Twitter alerts indicated five pledged to enroll next year over the weekend, and Pitt also has its eye on another Georgia cornerback, Hunter Sellers of Woodward Academy in College Park, Ga.

Denson, who announced his decision Monday on Twitter, and Sellers were among more than 20 players who visited the Pitt campus over the weekend.

Denson (6-foot-1, 175 pounds) has offers from Power 5 schools Boston College, Michigan State, Minnesota and Rutgers. He is the 134th-ranked prospect among all position groups in Georgia, according to Rivals.com, and he fits the type of athlete Narduzzi wants lining up at cornerback.

“They like tall, long corners who like to be aggressive at the line and put hands on the receivers,” Denson said.

Denson added he felt “at home” during his visit to Pitt.

“The players treated me like one of the guys,” he said. “They didn’t treat me like a recruit.”

Denson, who attends Cedar Grove High School, is the seventh known commit in Pitt’s Class of 2020 and second defensive back, joining Bangally Kamara of Akron, who also pledged Sunday.

Like Kamara, Denson said he does not plan any further visits, other than to attend a Pitt game at Heinz Field this season.
