Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry is scheduled to return to his team’s lineup and start in Saturday’s home game against the Buffalo Sabres at PPG Paints Arena.

Coach Mike Sullivan confirmed Jarry’s status after a morning skate.

Jarry was scratched from a 4-3 overtime road win against the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday after suffering an unspecified facial injury during a 2-0 road win against the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday.

Speaking with media in El Segundo, Calif., on Wednesday, Sullivan indicated Jarry was struck in the face after his mask was dislodged. As a result, swelling from the impact limited his vision.

In nine games this season, Jarry has a 4-5-0 record, a 2.51 goals-against average, a .907 save percentage and two shutouts.

Throughout his career, Jarry has faced the Sabres in 10 games and has an 8-2-0 record, a 2.29 goals-against average, a .914 save percentage and one shutout.

Notes:

• With the exception of rookie defenseman John Ludvig and goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic (both designated to long-term injured reserve), the Penguins had full attendance at their morning skate.

The team’s lines and pairings were:

59 Jake Guentzel - 87 Sidney Crosby - 17 Bryan Rust

19 Reilly Smith - 71 Evgeni Malkin - 67 Rickard Rakell

10 Drew O’Connor - 20 Lars Eller - 63 Radim Zohorna

83 Matt Nieto - 55 Noel Acciari - 77 Jeff Carter

27 Ryan Graves - 58 Kris Letang

28 Marcus Pettersson - 65 Erik Karlsson

73 P.O Joseph - 2 Chad Ruhwedel - 5 Ryan Shea

Joseph, Ruhwedel and Shea rotated on the third pairing, but Ruhwedel and Shea were off the ice well before Joseph. That is typically an idicator of which players will be in the lineup.

• While Jarry and reserve goaltender Magnus Hellberg participated in the main portion of the morning skate, goaltending prospect Joel Blomqvist was relegated to working with goaltending coach Andy Chiodo at center ice. Blomqvist was recalled to the NHL roster Thursday while Jarry was sidelined.

• Letang has 698 career points.
