Greensburg native Goetz finishes tied for 7th in Korn Ferry Tour event
GREER, S.C. — Austin Smotherman birdied three of his last four holes and closed with a 4-under-par 67 for a three-shot victory in the BMW Charity Pro-Am on the Korn Ferry Tour.
Smotherman won for the second time on the Korn Ferry Tour, his other title coming in 2021 during a season that first sent him to the PGA Tour. This win moves him to No. 4 on the Korn Ferry points list. He finished at 25-under 260.
Sebastian Cappelen (66), Pierceson Coody (67) and Carl Yuan (71) tied for second.
Yuan had a one-shot lead to start the final round and opened with four birdies in seven holes. But he made two double bogeys in a three-hole stretch around the turn and never caught up.
Greensburg native Mark Goetz finished in the top 10, shooting a 4-under 68 during the final round to finish tied for seventh at 17-under at Thornblade Country Club in Greer S.C.
Upper St. Clair native Neal Shipley finished tied for 59th at 5-under.
