College golf just keeps getting better for Mark Goetz.

The West Virginia senior from Greensburg was selected to compete in the NCAA Regional qualifier May 15-19 at The Sagamore Club in Noblesville, Ind.

Goetz, who attended The Kiski School and plays out of Hannastown Golf Club, becomes the first individual NCAA qualifier in school history.

Goetz will compete against nine other players over 54 holes with the low scorer — not on an advancing team — moving on to the NCAA Championship May 28-June 2 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Goetz won the 54-hole Mountaineer Invitational by 12 shots last month at Pete Dye Golf Club. His 12-under score set a school record in relation to par.
