Katie Miller Gee won her fifth Pennsylvania Golf Association Women’s Mid-Amateur title.

In 11 days, Katie Miller Gee will welcome her girl golfers for Hempfield tryouts. The new WPIAL season arrives Aug. 7.

The Spartans coach and former state champion will bring a competitive edge to practice. She is still winning as a player.

Miller Gee won her second straight and fifth overall Pennsylvania Golf Association Women’s Mid-Amateur title Tuesday with a 10-shot victory at Valley Brook Country Club in McMurray.

The Green Oaks Country Club member carded consecutive rounds of even-par 72 for a 36-hole score of 144 to claim the championship for the fifth time in the event’s six-year existence.

The mid-am is for players ages 25 and up.

Miller Gee, the wife of Oakmont Country Club professional Devin Gee, was the only player not over par. Barbora Millichip of Honeybrook Golf Club was second at 10-over 154.

Seven birdies and 22 pars helped Miller Gee play consistently and maintain a comfortable lead.

“I was pretty steady,” Miller Gee said. “But when I made mistakes, I was really happy with how I was able to refocus and not let it affect the next shot or the next hole.”

She has also won three state amateur titles.

Other winners at Valley Brook included:

• Hannah Rabb (Amateur)

• Annie Vanzant (Senior Division)

• Diane Caradano-Casacio (Super Senior Division)
